"The Greatest Showman" Review

Hello! Today I will be reviewing "The Greatest Showman" for your reading pleasure! *Spoiler Alert* It was fantastic.

Speaking of Spoilers, I will try to make this 100% spoiler-free!

So, basically "The Greatest Showman" covered the life of P. T. Barnum, his life, and how he developed his circus. It is done so in an extremely colourful, musical, energetic way, and just wow.

Plot: The plot was well-thought-out, didn't leave any loose ends, and somehow tied everything in. There were some plot elements that didn't add anything, but didn't take away anything either (and aren't those in every movie?). So I guess those were fine. They did a wonderful job with the setting of the 1800s and modern elements. I was actually surprised with how wonderful the plot was!

Cast:
Hugh Jackman was, of course, spectacular. I think he may just be my new favorite actor. Not to mention his amazing voice!! Ahh!! Zac Efron has moved on from High School Musical and I actually really liked him and his singing (he actually sang this time). I love Zendaya, so of course I loved her singing and dancing. My only complaint was Jenny Lind. She was supposed to be the "Swedish Nightingale" and yet she was British, had red hair, and didn't sing opera. Ummm... But otherwise, A+ on casting.

Music:
The lyricist also wrote La La Land, but this movie had much better music in my opinion. It's definitely modern, which I don't usually prefer, but this was done in a really classy way. The songs gave me chills and like I said previously, they were so, so powerful. I wished for more dancing/choreography, but I ALWAYS wish for that, so it wasn't a big deal. A+ on music as well!

Come to think of it, I can't think of a lot that I disliked! Other than the fact that the Swedish opera singer was, well, not a Swedish opera singer, I absolutely loved everything about it.

I highly recommend this movie if you love musicals, dancing, colourful cinematography, romance, and pretty much happiness in general.

Fun fact: Zendaya and Zac Eron did all of the aerial stunts without nets (harnesses were used for certain stunts) in the final film!

*Warning- the side effects include almost crying, sudden chills, and a sudden urge to perform in every and any show you can find*

50 Questions

Hello minions! Today I'll be answering 50 questions about myself because I'm procrastinating an English outline/paper. These are apparently "50 Questions you've Never Been Asked." Enjoy!

1. What’s your favorite candle scent?
Lemongrass anything. Or just citrus in general.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to say none of them. I already have a great sister!

3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother?

Is it fair to say none of them again?

I honestly have no idea. Probably mid 20-s if I do end up getting married.

5. Do you know a hoarder?

Nope.

6. Can you do a split?

Kind of? Most of the time- yes.

Probably somewhere around 7-ish.

Lara Rose

12. What would you name your son if you had one?

Harry Potter- yes!! <3 I'm rereading those actually. None of the other ones.

Wanted: Prom Date!

Hello! I am in need of a prom date!

*I know it's not prom season yet, but I better start now to ensure I have time for all the many guys applying for the position (ha. ha. *sigh*)*

As many of you know, it's my senior year of high school. I kind of already missed homecoming (something that I haven't had SUPER great experiences with in the past), which was one of the things on my "To do as a Senior" checklist (that doesn't actually exist). However, ever since I was a tiny little person, I've wanted to go to prom. I know people say it's boring, not fun, etc... but it's something that I feel like I'll regret if I don't go. All this being said- let's get straight into the requirements!

1.) Must have a desire to go (preferably with me, but if you just want to go but don't have a date, that works too. I'd prefer someone who doesn't want to sit on their phone the whole time).

2.) Must be okay with taking cheesy prom pictures. I'm okay with fake, silly ones.

3.) Must be able to dance. You don't have to dance well, but what's the point of prom if you don't dance? Plus- I'll be dancing either way, so it'd be great if I wasn't dancing alone.

4.) Must be willing to wear a tux. It's a lot, I know.

5.) Must not take these requirements (or life) too seriously. 😉

Are you the lucky guy? Apply today or contact me for more information. I look forward to hearing from you!

P.S.

Happy Birthday to my Blog!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BLOOOOOGGGGG!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!

I have now had my blog for 1 year! Yay! Hurray! *aggressively throws confetti*

I've definitely had some ups and downs (as you can see if you look at the titles from this past year), but it's been a good run so far.

I always wish to post more and provide more insight into my day-to-day life, but I feel like I'm doing pretty well giving people little bits at a time.

Remember when I was looking for a first mate/crew for my pirate ship? I didn't ever receive any applications, so sadly my ship never sailed. But... If you're still interested, let me know! Let's get this thing sailing (even if that just means we get to have pirate inside jokes forever)...

Here's to many more years and many more adventures!

Live long and prosper, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!!!!

This is the Story of How I (Almost) Died

*This happened on Monday. I feel like this is confusing as to when this all happened*

It was a regular Monday.

Scratch that.

There wasn't much regular about this Monday. It was stressful overall, but I don't need need to get into that. Except for the part where I almost died.

So, because school started yesterday, I was in need of school supplies- namely notebooks, a planner, and these awesome white-out pens that I was wanting last semester.

The afternoon-ish rolled around, and I figured it was time for that cursed trip into town. With Gideon and my new Comic Con shirt (oh, yeah! I'll write about that later), we headed out- dropping off Grace at work on the way. Everything was going swimmingly until about 3 miles outside of Florissant, when something didn't quite feel right with the handling. I started looking for a place to pull over and check it out (thinking it was a flat), when I felt something blow and was miraculously RIGHT next to a HUGE pull off (this was some miracle that I cannot explain). I got out (knowing it was a tire because of the smell), and this is what I was greeted with:

Of course I called my dad right away and tried to figure everything out (I definitely was NOT crying because I was half terrified/half thankful that I was able to get off the road immediately), and I sent him that picture.^^^ I figured I ran over something and didn't know it, but apparently it was more serious than that. He said he's never seen anything like it, and that it wasn't normal in any way, shape, or form.  I also might add that these tires were like 4 days old. Brand new.

So after about an hour or so of waiting on the side of the road, some nice motorcyclists from Illinois helped me change my tire because wow. That's a large car for me to try to figure out. 30 minutes later, and I was on my way home, driving VERY slowly with a nice, new spare.

My parents came home early (they left in case nobody was kind enough to help me change the tire), and called the tire place right away. It turns out it was a manufacturer's error, and not my fault (thank the Lord). The tire shop people said that they hadn't seen anything like it either. We both survived, and were able to get the car into the shop. I believe we're picking it up today with new tires that aren't faulty. And I think I'll be terrified of driving for just a little bit.

And that's the story of how I almost died. Luckily I didn't, and we were able to figure it out with the tire people.

I feel like that was a lot of rambling on and on (I'm writing this on my break from homework. My brain is dead). But there you go!

Be careful out there.

Live long and prosper, and if you run into a motorcyclist from Illinois, please thank them for helping me out.
